Hello, namaste!

I’m a writer, editor, and teacher of writing. My short story collection, The In-Betweeners, is now out from Braddock Avenue Books (2023), and my edited anthology of short stories and narrative essays by authors of South Asian descent in the United States, South to South: Writing South Asia in the American South, has been published by Texas Review Press (2023).

I’ve also had the opportunity to co-edit Kavya: Representative Nepali Poetry in English recently. The anthology features poems by 37 poets from the 1950s to the present, and has been simultaneously published by Grey Sparrow Press in the US and Vajra Books in Kathmandu.

My recent short fiction has appeared in journals such as the South Carolina Review, Reed, The Pinch, and Pangyrus. Belle Point Press has published my short fiction His Grandma Blues as a micro-chap as part of its Mid-South Prose Series.

Originally from Nepal, I live in Jonesboro, Arkansas with my wife and son. I am an associate professor of creative writing at Arkansas State University. I also serve as Creative Materials Editor of Arkansas Review: A Journal of Delta Studies.
